ABOUT TE MATAPIHI
Ko Lateesha tōku ingoa. I come from a small place in Te Tairāwhiti — Whāngārā Mai Tawhiti.
Te Matapihi was born from a deeply personal space — it began as a window into my own healing and transformation. A space where I could release what no longer served me, reconnect with my wairua, and grow into the wahine I needed to be — for myself, and for my tamariki.
I’ve been supported and guided by my whānau throughout this journey — a silent tribute to all those who have played a role in helping me find the light again. Te Matapihi exists because of them, and for anyone walking their own path of healing — silently, steadily, and with deep inner strength.
Every taonga is designed specifically and by me. My designs are led by wāhine, wairua, and whānau — not just in inspiration, but in intention. Each piece carries a story, a memory, a reminder of who we are and where we come from. They’re created for anyone on a journey — not just wāhine — but for all those seeking reconnection, strength, and peace.
Everything I do is for my tamariki and the mokopuna to come. I believe there’s space for all of us, and that we each have something beautiful to give and receive in this world.
Te Matapihi is not just a business — it’s a calling.
A quiet voice in the background, helping others return to themselves.
Thank you for being here.
— With aroha,
Lateesha
